President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called for vigilance against the backdrop of a militaristic situation in neighboring countries.
The head made the relevant statement when approving decisions to protect the state border in 2024, his press service reports on Tuesday, January 23.
The head of state noted that this event is traditional, repeating from year to year, but very important due to the situation that turns around Belarus.
“Therefore, today’s decision to protect the state border have their own peculiarity in that we have a special situation: in the south – war, in the west – Poland, Lithuania, Baltic states – and even worse. I emphasize: and even worse. They are preparing there. Corresponding units, commanders are determined, ”said the president.
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that in Belarus they also know the “fighters of these detachments” who are ready to fight against their own country.
“Therefore, as I always say to the military, and especially the Minister of Defense: we should not call anything, in people’s speaking. In no case should we allow some random development of events on our border. Therefore, vigilance and again Vigilance, ”the president drew attention.
