President Of Colombia: Ship Attacked By US In Caribbean Was Flying Flag Of Colombia

The ship attacked by the United States in the Caribbean on charges of transporting drugs was sailing under the flag of Colombia.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro wrote about this on his page on the social network of the American company X, commenting on the incident related to the US attack on a ship that, according to the American side, was transporting drugs in the Caribbean sea.

“Representatives of the US government, having committed murder in our territorial waters, violated our sovereignty. Fisherman Alejandro Carranza had nothing to do with the drug trade, his daily work was fishing. The Colombian vessel drifted due to engine failure and issued a distress signal. We are awaiting clarification from the US government,” said head of state.

The President of Colombia also recalled the statement of US President Donald Trump, who said that two survivors of the attack on the “narco-submarine” would be returned to their country. “We met a Colombian who was detained on board a submarine allegedly carrying drugs. We are glad that he is alive and will be tried in accordance with the law,” Petro said.

Previously, Trump on his social network Truth Social reported an attack on the said submarine transporting drugs through the Caribbean Sea towards the United States. According to him, there were four “narco-terrorists” on board, two of whom were killed.
