President of Kazakhstan accepted assistant to UN Secretary General

President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev accepted the assistant general of the UN Secretary General for Political Issues, Miroslav Yenchu, Akorda’s press service reports.

During the meeting, Tokaev emphasized the importance of his visit for the development of multifaceted cooperation with the UN.

The interlocutors discussed the current areas of practical interaction between Kazakhstan and the UN, including within the framework of the regional center for preventive diplomacy for Central Asia.

Particular attention was paid to the prospects for the creation of the UN Center for Sustainable Development in Almaty for Central Asia and Afghanistan.

Miroslav Yench praised the level of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UN, as well as the ongoing political reforms in our country.

A exchange of views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda took place.
