President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev dismissed Ruslan Zhaksylykov from the post of Minister of Defense of the Republic. This was reported by the press service of the head of the Kazakh state.
Dauren Kosanov was appointed by the presidential decree.
59-year-old Zhaksylykov served as head of the Ministry of Defense since January 2022.
55-year-old Kosanov before this appointment was Deputy Minister of Defense, Commander-in-Chief of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
