President of Kyrgyzstan and UN Secretary General discussed international cooperation

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov on September 20 in New York met with the UN Secretary General Antoniu Guterier. This was reported by the press service of the Kyrgyz leader.

Negotiations took place in the fields of the 78th Session of the UN MA, taking place these days in the USA.

The UN Secretary General emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is doing good work on achieving sustainable development goals, noted the readiness to continue joint work in this direction.

GUTERRASH expressed gratitude to Sadir Zhaparov for his initiatives to protect mountain ecosystems, noting the importance of this problem.

Sadyr Zhaparov, in turn, noted that the strengthening of regional and international cooperation is a key element of vision of the future of Kyrgyzstan.

He emphasized that in the new geopolitical conditions the role and significance of Central Asia increases significantly.

According to him, strengthening cooperation with the countries of the region is the highest priority for Kyrgyzstan.

He indicated that the project for the construction of the railway, together with Uzbekistan and China, is of great importance for the development of infrastructure and transport relations of the region.

The President especially noted that work is actively underway in Kyrgyzstan to implement sustainable development goals until 2030.
