President Of Lithuania: Turkey Makes Significant Contribution To Strengthening International Security

President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda congratulated President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Turkish Republic. The press service of the head of state of Lithuania reported this on Wednesday, October 29.

Nauseda said that Lithuania highly values Turkey as a reliable NATO ally making a significant contribution to strengthening international security.

“We are grateful to Turkey for its role in ensuring the security of our region,” the president emphasized, expressing the hope that Turkey’s participation in the NATO mission to patrol the airspace of the Baltic countries could further strengthen the security of the entire region.

Nauseda also noted that Lithuania is ready to further develop cooperation with Turkey in the field of defense and security, including the defense industry. The head of state emphasized that he highly values ​​the active and dynamic development of economic cooperation between the two countries. He expressed satisfaction that the intensive development of tourism and academic ties, as well as the establishment of partnerships between the cities of Lithuania and Turkey, enriches the bilateral dialogue and creates the basis for even closer friendship between our countries.

In his congratulatory letter, the President expressed Lithuania’s support for a constructive dialogue between Turkey and the EU, which opens up significant opportunities for the development of closer relations in the field of economics, energy, transport and other important areas, as well as contributes to a more effective solution of important issues on the international agenda day.
