This is the President of Mongolia Ukhnaiin Huralsukh, he said at the International Forum “Dialogue for Sustainable Development of 2025 – Climate Change: Billions of Trees”, Montsame reports.
The forum has become a platform for discussing the climatic policy of Mongolia, attracting investments and supporting cooperation between interested parties. Participants also paid attention to the national movement “Billions of Trees” and urgent environmental problems – land degradation, desertification, loss of biodiversity.
President Horelsukh emphasized the importance of unity and joint efforts to solve climatic challenges and expressed readiness for open cooperation with international partners on a mutually beneficial basis. He urged to preserve and protect nature for the sake of future generations.
The Eighth General Secretary of the UN Pan Hi Moon highly appreciated the contribution of Mongolia to global climatic efforts and urged to continue joint work in the spirit of unity. He also emphasized the importance of innovation, research and consistent actions of all interested parties.
The forum is attended by more than 600 delegates from 11 countries, among them representatives of the climatic, financial and technological spheres. The organizers were the Administration of the President of Mongolia, the relevant ministries, the Pan Hi Muna Foundation, the Stanford University Research Center and other partners.
Mongolia actively introduces advanced technologies in energy, transport, mining and urban development, striving to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
In the framework of the “Billions of Trees” movement, 86 million seedlings were prepared for three years, 84 million trees were planted and 1.9 billion from pests were protected.
Mongolia made initiatives about the international years of cooperatives and pastures, and also plans to create an alliance on sustainable use of pasture lands, which will attract investments and support about 500 million people in more than 100 countries.
