Russian-Tajikistan relations are developing in accordance with the plans. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this at a meeting with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon.

According to the Kremlin website, in Bishkek on the sidelines of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit, Vladimir Putin met with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

“In general, everything is going according to our plans, coordinated between us during my visit. I would like to thank you again for the warm welcome in Tajikistan. Everything is moving, our governments are working in all priority areas, which is most important. And on issues of regional security, we are also in constant contact. We understand what is happening on your borders, too,” Putin said.

The Russian leader noted that he considered it necessary. meet with his Tajik counterpart to “talk face to face on all issues that are of particular interest to both Tajikistan and Russia.”

The President of Tajikistan, in turn, said that bilateral relations are developing increasingly. “Trade turnover is increasing by almost 20 percent compared to last year. That is, there are no unresolved issues between our countries, everything is going according to plan,” he said.

Rahmon also accepted the invitation of the President of the Russian Federation to meet in St. Petersburg on December 21.

“It is with great pleasure that I accept your invitation to meet in St. Petersburg on December 21, as we traditionally do, friends, we gather every year before the New Year. This has already become traditional,” he noted.
