President Of Tajikistan Presented Package Of Initiatives To Deepen Cooperation In Central Asia

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon presented a large-scale package of initiatives aimed at developing the regional economy, digital integration and security system.

The head of state made corresponding proposals at the VII Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders in Tashkent. The text of the statement was published by the presidential press service on Sunday, November 16.

Rahmon noted the region’s potential in trade, transit, energy and tourism and called for accelerating the implementation of the “Central Asia-2040” Concept and the adoption of a document to ensure regional security.

Among the economic proposals, he highlighted the creation of a single transport and logistics space, the expansion of the use of free economic zones, the development of industrial cooperation and the modernization of railway, aviation and multimodal routes.

Separately, the president focused on the digital agenda. He proposed opening a Regional Artificial Intelligence Center in Dushanbe, as well as forming a unified digital e-commerce platform. Rakhmon expressed gratitude for the support of the UN General Assembly resolution on the role of AI in the sustainable development of Central Asia.

In the field of security, the president called for strengthening the work of relevant structures, developing the training of specialists and intensifying joint measures to counter cyber threats. He advocated the creation of the International Innovation and Educational Center for Central Asia.

Regarding the environment, Rahmon pointed to the accelerated melting of glaciers and dust storms that threaten the food security of the region. In conclusion, he emphasized that the prosperity of Central Asia depends on close cooperation and improving the quality of life of citizens. Following the meeting, the heads of state signed a joint statement.
