President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRK) Ersin Tatars emphasized that successes in the defense industry of Turkey and the achievements of organizations such as Aselsan, Rocketsan and Tusaş are the pride of the entire Turkic world.
Tatars spoke at the Teknofest award ceremony in TRK, the largest aviation-space and technological festival, in which thousands of youth teams took part. He thanked the president of the T3 Foundation, the Selchuk Bayractar, for organizing the event in Cyprus, noting that Teknofest became an important milestone that contributes to the development of youth and gives them hope for the future.
“Cyprus Turkish people saw on Teknofest such organizations as Aselsan, Rocketsan and Tusaş. All these institutions are the pride of not only Turkey, but the entire Turkic world. They became symbols of the Turkish national defense industry,” Tatars noted.
He emphasized that safety and stability in Cyprus, as well as the ability to live in peace and security in the Eastern Mediterranean, depend on the presence of Turkey in the region and ensuring the security of the Turkish army. These achievements make TRSK a safer state.
Tatars added: “As we all know, in the Greek part of Cyprus and in other countries there may be other interests. But here, in our homeland with the presence of Turkey, we can maintain stability and move TRSK to the future.”
The President noted that new important objects, such as a high court, the National Library, Mosque and the National Park, will be opened soon. He also added that participation in Teknofest, which attracted more than 100,000 people, is a huge success, and it is expected that this number will exceed 150,000.
“If we do something, we are doing this really. We are an integral part of the great Turkish people. The Cyprus Turkish people is an integral part of this great nation,” he said.
Tatars also expressed the gratitude of Turkey for their help in creating the defense industry and emphasized the importance of events such as Teknofest, which showed Cyprus how far the country could advance, despite difficulties. “This festival taught us a lot, and the Cyprus Turkish people are very pleased with this,” he concluded, adding that this historical moment belongs to everything.
