President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that another 307 Ukrainian military returned to their homeland.
“Today is the second day of exchange in the format of 1000 per 1000, which we managed to agree on Turkey. Only in these two days 697 people have already returned. Tomorrow we are waiting for the continuation,” the president wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, among the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Service and the National Guard of Ukraine, who returned today as part of the exchange,
A little earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported the return of another 307 troops in accordance with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements reached on May 16 in Istanbul.
On the eve of the parties, 390 people were transferred – 270 military and 120 civilians.
May 16 in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine, peace negotiations were held. According to the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to exchange prisoners according to the formula “1,000 by 1,000”, state their vision of a possible future ceasefire, prescribing it in detail, as well as continue negotiations.
