President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky met in Kyiv with the Chancellor of the Treasury of Great Britain Jeremy Gantom, the press service of the head of state reports.
“We are highly appreciated by the partnership between our states. It is important that we signed the first cooperation in the field of security with the United Kingdom,” Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine also thanked for the largest package of defense assistance from the UK for the amount of half a billion pounds, which was announced the day before.
The head of state noted the UK decision to increase the financing of the defense needs of the Government of the United Kingdom to 2.5 percent of GDP.
“I thank you for such a step, for the decision, which will not only contribute to the help of Ukraine in the future, but will also strengthen security in Europe. It is very important.
