President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Switzerland President Alena Bersse, who is on a visit to Kyiv.
According to the president’s office, the head of state thanked for the significant humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine since the beginning of a full -scale invasion.
“Thank you for your visit. This is a very strong message for Ukrainians around the world that you decided to visit Ukraine on a special day of our history for all our families – on the 90th anniversary of the Holod Furver. I also thank you for your participation in today’s sorrowful ceremony . We are proud that we have such partners who took part in the ceremony on this special day for our country, ”he said.
The President of Ukraine expressed hope for the positive decision of the new Parliament of Switzerland on the recognition of the Holodomor by the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
Zelensky noted the importance of the assistance that Switzerland provides to restore infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
The head of state also praised the role of Switzerland in the process of humanitarian clearance, in particular its willingness to accept the second international donor conference on humanitarian mine clearance in Ukraine.
Parties paid special attention to the use of frozen income from Russia’s assets.
Separately, the interlocutors discussed the progress in the implementation of the Ukrainian formula of the world and the participation of Switzerland in this process.
Vladimir Zelensky noted the “proactive position of Switzerland in the issues of bringing the Russian aggressor accountable”, in particular, its accession to the coalition of states to create a special tribunal for crime against Ukraine.
