President Of Uzbekistan And Prime Minister Of Italy Visited Exhibition In Samarkand

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Italian Prime Minister George Melony visited the exhibition “Uzbekistan and Italy: Dialogue of civilizations”, organized in the Congress Center of Samarkand. On Thursday, May 29, the press service of the head of the Uzbek state reports.

The unique exposition is devoted to deep historical, scientific and cultural connections between the two countries.

It consists of 9 thematic sections, including the “Trade relations of the Roman and Kushan empires”, “First Renaissance”, “Marco Polo”, “Amir Temur”, “Mirzo Ulugbek” and “Mirzo Bobur”, “Italians in Uzbekistan in the XIX century”, “The contribution of Italy in the Second World War”. “Uzbekistan and Italy: preservation of cultural heritage”.

The guests were presented with an opening exhibition Unique reproduction of the frescoes of Afrosiab “Reception of ambassadors by the ruler of Samarkand”, made using the technique of the Florentine mosaic by the outstanding Italian master Mauro Pellitsonni.

Leaders also familiarized themselves with various artifacts, graphic projections, manuscripts and miniatures, rare literary publications, sculptures, archival photographs and documents.

In addition, Mirziyoyev and Melony together put an oak on the alley of a congress center.

The ceremony has become a symbol of friendship of the peoples of the two countries, a firm mood for the further development and strengthening of the Uzbek-Italian relations of strategic partnership.
