Only 25 percent of the mini fields transferred to Armenia were helpful. Released from occupation of the territory of Azerbaijan today are among the most mined in the world. This was announced on Friday an assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Department for the Foreign Policy of the Administration of the Head of State Hickmet Hajiyev at the opening of the International Conference “Humanitarian Activities for Demining and Sustainable Development Goals.”
Assistant President stressed that Armenians for all the time of the occupation of Azerbaijani territories set them millions of mines. “Instead of planting trees, they installed mines. As a result of the explosions, both military and civilians were killed. As a result of the explosions of min, they die and are injured and servicemen, and peaceful citizens. Unfortunately, only 25 percent of mini field cards, Armenia transferred, were useful, “Hickmet Hajiyev emphasized.
The president’s assistant also noted that Azerbaijan conducts large-scale work on demining liberated territories.
“Mine problem is one of the most relevant for Azerbaijan. The released land of Azerbaijan is one of the most polluted territories in the world,” said Hajiyev.
