Presidential elections are held in Uzbekistan

Presidential elections are held in Uzbekistan. Polling stations opened at 8:00 local time and will work until 20:00.

All five political parties officially operating in the country, put forward their candidates.

Favorite is the operating head of the state 64-year-old Shavkat Mirziyev, running from the ruling liberal-democratic party of Uzbekistan. For victory in the election, the candidate needs to gain more than 50 percent of the votes. The threshold of appearance – 33 percent.
