August 29, a telephone conversation was held between French President Emmanuel Macron and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
During the telephone conversation, which was on the initiative of Macron, the presidents discussed the situation in the region, the issue of opening the roads of Agdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Hankendi.
Aliyev said that the Azerbaijan’s an Armenia and the notorious regime created and supported by it in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, is purposefully created by artificial obstacles to the use of the Agdam-Khandi road, and this is used for the purpose of political manipulation.
The President of Azerbaijan noted that Armenia and the notorious regime abandoned the preliminary agreement on the transportation of goods on the road of Agdam-Khandi through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross. In addition, the leadership of Armenia, without coordination with the Azerbaijani side, delivered the cargo in the direction of the state border, as it claims, humanitarian, the purpose of which is political speculation.
Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan invited representatives of the Armenian population of Karabakh to the capital of Baku and other cities of Azerbaijan to discuss reintegration, but they also refused this, purposefully striving to present the situation allegedly as the character of humanitarian tension. President Ilham Aliyev noted that after the opening of the Agdam-Khandi road, the Lachin-Khandi road in compliance with the rules of the customs and border regime of Azerbaijan can be used.
At the same time, Aliyev said that today a column of cars for delivery of food cargo to this territory
went through the Azerbaijani City Society.
French President Emmanuel Macron noted that France, for its part, is also ready to contribute to the stabilization of the situation and eliminate the current tension, proposed to continue contacts between the relevant structures of France and Azerbaijan.
Earlier, Macron held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
