The founder of the Russian security company Wagner Evgeny Prigozhin said that the Ukrainian army is holding a counterattack in the city of Bakhmut: “The situation in the flanks of Bakhmut is developing according to a worst predictable scenario.”
Prigozhin said that there is a great risk of surrounding his mercenaries in Bakhmut, since the flanks held by the Russian military are cracking.
He on the social network noted that the statement of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky that the counterattack in the region takes time does not correspond to reality.
“Zelensky is lying, his counterattacks are in full swing. In the direction of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), parts of the Ukrainian army go to the flank, and, unfortunately, this succeeds,” Prigozhin wrote in his post in Telegram.
“Due to the reduction of the personnel, the Wagner PMC was forced to transfer the flanks of the military. There is a serious risk of the Wagner PMC in Bakhmut as a result of the flanks. The flanks are already cracking and falling out. In the absence of ammunition, the” meat grinder “will work in the opposite direction : APU will be destroyed by Wagner PMCs, – added the head of the PMC.
Earlier, spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov, commenting on the situation in Bakhmut, said: “Airborne Forces help them and close the Ukrainian troops on the flanks.”
