Prime Minister: in US Congress assured Ukraine in support of bills for help

both parties of the US Congress assured the Ukrainian delegation in support of the bills for help. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, commenting on the results of the visit to the United States.

“We received assurances in the support of bills by both parties. We expect that in the near future this large package of assistance from the United States will be voted,” the head of government wrote in his Telegram.

According to the politician, the key topics of the discussion during the visit were to unlock the US military and financial assistance, American investments in the Ukrainian economy and the use of Russian frozen assets.

The prime minister pointed out the presence of shifts to unlocking assistance from the United States. The bill provides for $ 61 billion to support Ukraine. The main part is for military needs, $ 7.8 billion is budget support. More than $ 1.5 billion – economic assistance.

Congress also plans to consider the bill on the confiscation of frozen assets of the Russian Federation for the needs of Ukraine.

Denis Shmygal held personal meetings with the leaders of the Democrats and Republicans in Congress.
