Prime Minister of Japan fired his son because of scandal with party

Secretary and eldest son of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kisida Sytaro will resign after a scandal with a party in the official residence of the head of the Cabinet.

Earlier, the weekly Shukan Bunshun said that the prime minister’s son in December 2022 invited several relatives and acquaintances to the residence of the head of government. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kisida made a strict remark to his eldest son Sotaro Kisida for the inappropriate behavior in the Tokyo residence of the head of government.

Later, the head of the Japanese Cabinet decided to dismiss his son, calling his actions inappropriate, taking into account responsibility to the public. Setaro Kisida will leave his post on June 1.

“The responsibility for the appointment, of course, lies with me, and I take it seriously. I want to fulfill my duties, decisively moving forward,” the Prime Minister commented on the corresponding decision.

state television NHK reported that Yamamoto Takayoshi, who had previously held this position, will replace the prime minister’s son as his secretary.

The 31-year-old Sotaro Kisida was appointed to the secretary of his father on political issues in October last year.
