Prime Minister of Japan: Russia uses energy as weapon

Because of the war in Ukraine, Europe was “in a terrible situation.” The EU countries have been relied on “cheap and stable supplies from Russia” for decades, and at present the Russian Federation and other countries “use energy as weapons,” said Japanese Fumio Kisid on the air of NHK.

According to Kisida, the situation in the field of energy is seriously changing in the world and “there is a lack of various energy resources.” This situation leads to a change in the structure of production.

“Europe for decades thought about life and production, based on stable and cheap supplies of energy resources from Russia,” the Japanese politician noted, adding that the invasion of the Russian Federation to Ukraine “fundamentally changed the picture of the future” and the situation “became terrible.”

Moscow has repeatedly rejected the thesis about the use of energy supplies as a weapon and accused the West of using “economic weapons” against Russia.
