Sustainable growth of the economy should ensure an improvement in the quality of life of Kazakhstanis, but the government needs to be prepared for various scenarios, taking into account the geopolitical situation. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov at a government meeting.
“We must be prepared for various development scenarios taking into account the current geopolitical situation. The first heads of state bodies need to strengthen the work on diversification of the economy and create permanent jobs,” said Smailov, whose words are quoted by the press service of the Kazakh government.
According to him, in the context of global competition for investments, it is also required to strengthen the work to attract strategic investors. Moreover, with each of them it is necessary to carry out direct work at each stage of interaction, the prime minister noted.
Smailov believes that another important task is to restrain price growth. As a result of the measures taken, according to the results of the half of the year, inflation slowed up to 14.6 percent in annual terms, he noted.
“We are faced with the task of reducing inflation in the current year. This requires coordinated and preventive actions. The Ministry of Education, together with interested state bodies, needs to reduce inflation to planned values,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
