Sharif expressed gratitude for the solidarity of Turkey with Pakistan and noted that he gratefully took the prayers of Turkish citizens for the Pakistanis who died during a recent conflict.
He also informed President Erdogan about the current military situation in the region.
“Pakistan is grateful to Turkey for its efforts to reduce tension and maintain peace in South Asia,” the statement said.
According to the statement of the Directorate of Relations under the Administration of the President of Turkey, during a telephone conversation on May 6, the parties discussed the tension between India and Pakistan, the attack and current events that occurred that night.
President Erdogan confirmed that Türkiye supports the balanced and restrained position of Pakistan, and also called the proposal to conduct an impartial, transparent and reliable international investigation of a terrorist attack in Jamma and Kashmir.
Ankara is ready to make all the necessary efforts to prevent further escalation and will continue diplomatic contacts on this issue, ”the Turkish leader added.
