Prime Minister of Ukraine: Black Sea transaction has opened access to “necessary grain” to world

Thanks to the Black Sea transaction, the world received such a necessary grain from Ukraine, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said, answering an anadol question at a press conference as part of a conference on the restoration of Ukraine in London.

The politician praised the mediation efforts of Ankara against the background of the ongoing war in Ukraine. “We are very grateful for the Black Sea grain initiative that Turkey supports, and which made it clear how important the grain of Ukraine is for everyone: the Middle East, Africa and Europe,” said the Ukrainian prime minister.

Shmygal called Turkey “a very important partner and neighbor” of Ukraine, and also praised the efforts of partners and allies to support Kyiv, “who is fighting for freedom and existence.”

He expressed confidence that Ukraine will “win and liberate the entire Ukrainian territory” within the framework of the international-recognized borders of 1991. “We value the efforts of Turkey, personally the president (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan, the government, and we hope that together with the allies – Turkey, Europe, the USA, Great Britain we will reach peace in my country,” Shmygal said.

Turkey, the UN, Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement in Istanbul in July last year on the resumption of grain exports from three Ukrainian Black Sea ports.

Since then, the deal has been extended several times. The last time the grain transaction was extended for two months from May 18 to July 18.
