Several hundred people gathered in prison №12 in Rustavi demanding to release from the custody of the ex-president of the country Mikhail Saakashvili, says Sputnik Georgia.
The organizers of the action, among which there are also the leaders of opposition parties, set the stage near the entrance to the penitentiary institution. The territory of the prison institution is guarded by numerous police. The setting near the prison is calm.
Recall Mikhail Saakashvili was arrested in Tbilisi in the evening of October 1. He is accused of official crimes, according to two cases, he was convicted in absentia, which provides for a punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to six years, other cases in court proceedings.
