Prosecutor asks for a blogger Ata Abdullayev 9 years in prison

In the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, the lawsuit continued in the case of the scandalous blogger Ata Abdullayev, accused of extortion.

As reported by Haqqin.az, judicial documents were studied at today’s meeting. It turned out that A. Aabdullayev was convicted in 2004 by the Nasimi District Court of Article 321 (evasion of military service) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. In 2014, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes recognized Abdullayev guilty of articles 177 (theft) and 271 (unauthorized access to the computer system). Arrested at the time by the staff of the currently disbanded ministry of national security for theft of money from cards online A.Abdullayev court appointed 7 years conditionally.

Then at the meeting announced the completion of the judicial investigation. The public prosecutor stated that accusations against Abdullayev were proven during the court, and suggested to sentence him by 9 years in prison with the serving of a punishment in a correctional institution of general regime.

The trial will continue on December 28.

Recall, A. Aabdullayev was detained by the State Security Service on March 12 of this year. He was charged under Article 182.2.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (extortion with the use of blackmail).
