Prosecutor requested for ex-general prosecutor Eldar Gasanova 11 years in prison

Today in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, chaired by the judge of Afghan Hajiyev, a court session was held in the criminal case of the former Prosecutor General and the ex-ambassador of Eldar Gasanova.

As the HAQQIN.AZ correspondent said, the meeting was performed by the Government of Anar Nasibov. In his speech, the prosecutor indicated that the charges presented to Hasanov under the articles of Azerbaijan: 179.3.2 (assignment or waste committed in large amounts), 193-1.3.2 (Legalization of cash or other property acquired by criminal path amount), 308.2 (abuse of official powers, entailed grave consequences), 308-1.1 (non-use of the state budget for the appointment), as well as under Article 313 (official fraud) were proven during the judicial investigation.

The state concordant, based on the collected sufficient evidence and testimony of witnesses, demanded to recognize Eldar Gasanov guilty of the specified articles and sentence him to 11 years of imprisonment.

The ex-ambassador in its testimony during the court investigation said that he did not recognize himself guilty

Recall, in the course of financial inspections, reasonable suspicions appeared in the fact that the former General Prosecutor, the ex-ambassador of Azerbaijan in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina Eldar Gasanov, made misuse of the major amount of budget funds, and also made other violations of laws. Eldar Hasanov was detained on August 13, 2020 as a suspect.
