Putin announced an informal CIS summit before New Year

Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled that before the New Year in St. Petersburg, an informal meeting of the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held. He stated this at the summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in Bishkek. The president did not call the exact date of the summit. This was reported by the Russian media.

“Out of the framework of our work today, I want to remind you that we are waiting for you at the CIS leaders agreed on the New Year’s Enterprise meeting in St. Petersburg,” the president said to his colleagues.

The previous informal meeting of the leaders of the CIS countries took place on October 7, in St. Petersburg. The New Year’s informal CIS summit was held last year – December 28th.
