Russian President Vladimir Putin announced readiness for a new stage of negotiations with Ukraine and expressed gratitude to the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan for providing such a site.
“agreed in such a way that after the completion of this stage we conduct the third round of negotiations. In general, we are ready for this. We need to agree on a place, time,” said the President of the Russian Federation, noting that he is hoping in this sense on the president of Turkey.
“I expect that the president of the Turkish Republic, Mr. Erdogan, remains in his positions to support this process and we are very well -iffed to him for this. We are ready to hold such a meeting in Istanbul,” said the President of the Russian Federation.
Putin also said that the Russian Federation is ready to transfer to Ukraine another 3 thousand bodies of the dead military, since the exchanges of prisoners are important and create conditions for a subject discussion of the essence of the problems between the two parties.
“We have already given over six thousand bodies and are ready to give almost three thousand more. But the case is behind the Ukrainian side so that it takes the bodies of its dead soldiers,” Putin said.
Earlier, on June 2, the second round of peace negotiations took place in Istanbul, which took place in the Palace of Chyragan. The parties reached an agreement on humanitarian issues, including the exchange of prisoners of war from among the wounded, seriously ill and persons under 25 years of age, as well as the transfer of more than 6 thousand bodies of the dead.
The first round of Istanbul peace negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine took place on May 16 in the residence of Dolmabakhche.
