Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the closed city of Sarov, located in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported on the Kremlin’s website.
In this village is the Russian Federal Nuclear Center – the All -Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (VNIIEF), as well as the Lomonosov Moscow University of Moscow State University.
VNIIEF continues the traditions of Soviet scientists, and also engaged in renewing the Russian nuclear arsenal. In the closed city of Arzamas-16 (since 1995, Sarov in 1951 launched serial production of the first model of the Soviet atomic bomb called “RDS-1 product.”
