Putin Awarded Developers Of Burevestnik And Poseidon

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the award ceremony for the developers of Burevestnik and Poseidon. He emphasized that the development is of historical significance for Russia for the entire 21st century. The Russian Armed Forces did not interfere with the NATO ship’s reconnaissance in the Burevestnik testing area, the president added.

According to him, the Burevestnik surpassed all missile systems known in the world in terms of flight range. A NATO reconnaissance ship was in the missile testing area on October 21. The Russian Armed Forces did not prevent the NATO ship from conducting reconnaissance in the testing area.

Putin said that Russia is working on a new generation of cruise missiles with nuclear engines – in the future they will become hypersonic. “Burevestnik” and “Poseidon” use only domestic materials; specialists have created “a real treasure trove of new materials.” The technologies used in the development will help in creating a promising station on the Moon.

“Small dimensions of nuclear installations, as in Burevestnik, will help with the extraction of minerals in difficult areas. New operating principles will give impetus to the development of technologies that can be used on the shelf in the Arctic. The electronic component base can be used to create supercomputers and communication systems,” the head of state continued.

Putin stressed that Russia is not a threat to anyone, but announced that it is developing its nuclear potential.

He noted that the Sarmat intercontinental heavy missiles will enter experimental combat duty in 2025, and already into combat duty in 2026.

“New generations of weapons are already being developed on the basis of a nuclear installation, like that of the Burevestnik,” he emphasized.

The President also announced the start of mass production of the complex “Hazel”.
