Putin awarded Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh honorary title

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the assignment of the 15th separate motorized rifle Alexandria brigade of the honorary title “Guards”. This is the only peacekeeping brigade in the Armed Forces of Russia. Now she is serving in Karabakh.

The brigade has become a “guards” for “mass heroism and courage, stamina and courage manifested by personnel in the hostilities of protecting the Fatherland and state interests in the conditions of armed conflicts,” the decree said.

The 15th motorized rifle Alexandrian brigade is part of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms of the Central Military District and is located in the village of Roshchinsky in the Samara region. Since November 10, 2020, parts of the brigade are serving in Karabakh and form the basis of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
