Putin congratulated Mirziyoyev on re -election by President of Uzbekistan

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev on re-election to the post of head of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kremlin press service reports.

“A convincing victory in the elections confirms your high political authority, indicates the wide folk support of the course of large -scale transformations you are aimed at the further dynamic development of the country, the strengthening of its international positions, the protection of the rights and interests of citizens,” the congratulatory telegram of Putin says in Putin’s congratulatory telegram .

The Russian leader noted that he appreciates the principal line of Mirziyev “to strengthen the relations of the comprehensive strategic partnership and allies of Russia and Uzbekistan.”

“I am sure that together the consistent extension of mutually beneficial cooperation will be ensured by the entire complex of bilateral ties, as well as coordination in regional and international affairs. This undoubtedly meets the aspirations of the Russian and Uzbek peoples,” said Putin.

Presidential elections in Uzbekistan were held on July 9. According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, the current president Shavkat Mirziyoyev gained 87.5 percent of the vote.
