Putin hopes for conclusion of peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan

Russia hopes for the conclusion of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at the CSTO summit in Yerevan.

According to the Russian leader, who give the Armenian media, further attention requires issues related to the efforts of the complex Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement.

“In this regard, we have positively evaluated in Sochi the meetings of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the presence of your humble servant. The negotiations have created a good basis for future compromises on fundamental issues,” said Putin.

The President of the Russian Federation noted the importance of the fact that the joint statement confirmed the adherence to the top level that was achieved in 2020, 2021, as well as a key role in a joint format of interaction in ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

The Russian leader noted that only by sequentially fulfilling these agreements in matters of delimitation of the border, unlocking transport communications, solving humanitarian problems, it is possible to normalize the relations of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Putin expressed hope, “that this will ultimately reach the conclusion of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku.”
