If some countries decide to conduct real tests of nuclear weapons, then Russia will respond in kind. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this at a press conference following his state visit to Tajikistan.
“Some of the… specialists believe that it would be necessary to conduct full-scale tests and in some countries they are thinking about this, as far as we know, they are even preparing. So I said that if they do, then we will do the same,” Putin said.
The Russian leader noted that Russia will soon have the latest weapons.
“We are finalizing, and I think we will have the opportunity to announce in the near future the new weapons that we once announced,” he said, pointing out that testing of new types of weapons is going well.
