Putin: In Russian economy, positive trends are strengthened, despite challenges

Despite the unprecedented challenges that the Russian Federation has encountered in recent years, positive trends have been strengthened in the Russian economy. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

“According to the results of last year, Russia’s GDP, as you know, added 3.6 percent. And the statistics of the first months of the current year shows that it continues to demonstrate good pace: in January of this year – 4.6 percent in annual terms, in February – 7.7 percent, in the first two months of [the current year], there is an average of six percent industrial production. According to him, the strategic task of Russia is to increase the release of goods, services primarily on its own technological base. “I have already spoke many times and now I want to repeat: we are not going to produce absolutely everything here, in Russia – it is pointless and not necessary, we are not going to do this. But we need to create exactly our original solutions, services, software, apply them on practice, especially in critical technologies, directions, ”said Putin.

The Russian leader also drew attention to the fact that the state has to conduct a global infrastructure program that will include the construction of roads, expansion of sea ports, an increase in railway and airport networks of the Russian Federation, as well as updating in the field of housing and communal services.

In addition, Putin noted that the threat of inflation in Russia remains, but there is a positive trend towards its decrease.
