Putin promised to raise Lukashenko in rank

Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to assign the title of Colonel to Belarusian colleague, RIA Novosti reports.

“It would be nice if I was also a colonel. True, that he (Putin – Ed.) I promised me, but I still haven’t assigned,” said Lukashenko with a laugh at a press conference following the negotiations .

“If I promised, I will do,” said the Russian leader, noting that Lukashenko does not need the head of another state to assign the title.

“He himself is a big boss,” said Putin.

The head of the Russian state added that he himself does not have the general titles, but it really serves the people, and military ranks are primarily needed by the military.
