Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma a bill on the ratification of an agreement with Venezuela on strategic partnership and cooperation. The corresponding order was published on the official portal of legal information.
“Ratify the agreement between the Russian Federation and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on strategic partnership and cooperation, signed in Moscow on May 7, 2025,” the document says.
The day before, Putin appointed Sergei Ryabkov as his official representative when the chambers of the Federal Assembly consider the issue of partnership between Russia and Venezuela.

According to the document, the parties cooperate in the energy sector in such areas as exploration and development of new oil and natural gas fields, increasing the productivity of fields, reducing their burden on the environment environment, as well as “expansion of oil trading operations on a mutually beneficial basis.”
