Putin: UAVs must take control of state of infrastructure

Disruptions “largely” will take control of the state of the most important infrastructure in the Russian Federation. About this Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the development of unmanned aviation, the Kremlin press service reports.

“In the coming years, unmanned aerial systems should largely take control of the state of industrial facilities, pipeline systems, power lines, almost all critical infrastructure, monitor forests – though this is already partially done, but all this is in a small and too modest size, and the possibilities here are colossal in control over all other ecosystems. It is necessary to help with the help of these systems, to prevent and eliminate emergency situations, we know well about them, ”said Putin.

The meeting began with discussing the problems of unmanned aviation in Russia.

including the president called the outdated regulatory framework, the lack of the necessary infrastructure and “managerial templates and stereotypes, when we act on old patterns and believe that, working in this way, we provide the necessary security, but restraint for the development.”

The main goals of the use of drones, according to Putin: The development of the territory of Russia, including the delivery of food, drugs and mail to remote areas, monitoring the state of industrial facilities, pipeline systems, power lines and other critical infrastructure.

According to the president, the Russian drone market is still estimated at 500 billion rubles. “But no one would object to my remark that it would be a minimum of trillion. So, most likely, it will be,” the head of state said.

Among the main tasks of the development of unmanned aviation, the president called the localization of production, the development of breakthrough technologies and the element base, the removal of administrative barriers, the formation of cluster sites for the production of unmanned aviation systems and ground infrastructure.

Another mechanism – the creation of special operators who will carry out large purchases and then lease unmanned aerial vehicles, the Russian leader believes.

Training courses and unmanned system management modules will be introduced into educational programs, the president said. “I fully support the proposal that sounded from our companies so that the guys can learn to manage, collect, construct drones from school. I am sure, firstly, the guys will take a useful, interesting business, distract from what it would not have to be done” – said Putin.

And, of course, unmanned aircraft systems, like a number of new high -tech spheres, obviously will be one of the key areas in the development of Russia not only until 2030, but also far beyond the horizon of the current decade, the president added.
