(aa) – Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that the West purposefully provoked a conflict in Ukraine to restrain the development of the Russian Federation.
The President of the Russian Federation said this at a meeting with young scientists of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center.
“I must say that our forecasts were confirmed, as we said – it will be like this, like this – it all happened, provoked this conflict in Ukraine, took advantage of this,” Putin stated.
“I think that this was generally purposefully done in order to create additional conditions to limit our economic growth and contain the development of Russia,” the head of state said.

“Then (in 2014) we began to think about what to do in order to ensure sovereignty. Much has been done, but much, of course, has yet to be done,” Putin emphasized.
