Putin’s assistant criticized Yuan

Assistant to the President of Russia Maxim Oreshkin does not share the general optimism regarding the prospects of the yuan as a system -forming currency for Russian reserves, his words are conveyed by Interfax.

“My opinion is obvious: the dollar and the euro must be changed to the ruble, and not for other currencies,” he said. Earlier, the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov announced a quick increase in the share of the yuan in the gold and foreign exchange reserves (SVR) of the Russian Central Bank.

Putin’s assistant criticized this initiative. “The Ministry of Finance is now offering to invest in Yuan and says that we need a balanced budget, because investors will not believe us, we will not be able to occupy and so on. But China is a country with a budget deficit of five percent of GDP this year. I mean Anton Germanovich as an investor – why does he invest in a country where a large budget deficit is? ” – asked Oreshkin.
