North Korea emphasized the “strength” of its alliance with Russia on the anniversary of the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
According to The Korea Held, the National newspaper Rodong Sinmun, close to the ruling labor party of Korea, published an article on the anniversary of the agreement signed in June 2024 between Pyongyang and Moscow.
The article emphasizes that the agreement has become a “new page” in bilateral friendship and clearly demonstrates the absolute strength of the allied relations between North Korea and Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously reported that a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement signed in June 2024 entered into force in December 2024.
The statement noted that the agreement provides for mutual military assistance in the event of an attack on one of the parties, and is also aimed at strengthening the indivisible security system in North-Eastern Asia and the Asia-Pacific region and the formation of a multipolar world order.
The National Intelligence Service of South Korea (NIS) previously reported that North Korea sent more than 15 thousand troops to Russia to participate in the hostilities in Ukraine. According to the service, about 600 of them were killed, and about 4 thousand were injured.
Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu said that North Korea decided to send 1000 military engineering troops and 5,000 construction specialists to the Kursk region to participate in recovery work.
