Qatar Allocated To Tajikistan $ 50 Million For Construction Of Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station

Tajikistan and the Katari Fund signed an agreement on the provision of a preferential loan of $ 50 million for the construction of the Rogun hydroelectric power station. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic.

The document was signed in Dushanbe by the Minister of Finance by Faiziddin Sattor Kakhhorzod and the General Director of the Catarus Foundation for Fakhd Hamad Al-Suleit. Participation of the Catarus Foundation in the implementation of new priority projects in Tajikistan.

“The implementation of this agreement will be an important step in strengthening national energy security and ensuring the sustainable development of Tajikistan,” the Ministry of Finance emphasized. The Rogun hydroelectric power station, which is considered a key object in ensuring the country’s energy independence.

The project will increase the volume of electricity production to meet internal needs and expand the export potential of the region.

Rogun hydroelectric power station is the largest hydropower object in Tajikistan and the strategic priority of the government. The commissioning of the station will significantly increase the production of renewable electricity and ensure stable energy supply of the population and industry.
