Raisi: Iran and Azerbaijan expanded cooperation after liberation of occupied lands

“The general religion and history of the Iranian and Azerbaijani peoples, as well as the inextricable connections that exist between our peoples, created a deep support and a strong basis for relations between the two countries in a new period.” This is stated in the congratulatory letter of President Iran Ibrahim Raisi, sent to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Independence Day – May 28.

In his letter, the Iranian leader noted that since Azerbaijan, Iran has always sought to expand bilateral relations in all areas within the framework of mutual interests.

“It is gratifying that after the end of the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories, the possibilities and the sphere of cooperation of the two countries expanded even more. I hope that as a result of the efforts of both sides, these opportunities will be used in accordance with the mutual interests and wishes of the peoples of the two countries,” the letter said in a letter .

Raisi emphasized that Azerbaijan occupies an important place in Iran’s foreign policy, and the Iranian government makes every effort to develop good neighborly relations with fraternal Azerbaijan.
