Rauf Mamedov leads at European Championships in Iceland

The European Chess Championship is held in Reykjavik.

After 6 rounds, the sole leader is Azerbaijani grandmaster Rauf Mamedov. In its asset 5.5 points. 5 points are Russian Anton Demchenko and Armenian Ovasnes Gabuzian.

In six tours, Rauf Mamedov won five victories and played a draw once. He beat Taruna Canyamaral (Italy), Loetha Board (Czech Republic), Evgenia Romanova (Russia), Robert Ovanisyan (Armenia) and Maxim Lagrad (France). Rauf’s sole draw in the party with Bulgarian Martin Petrov.
