The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population held a meeting with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham Azerbaijan).
The press service of the department HAQQIN.AZ said that the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sakhil Babayev noted that the role of the private sector in the economy of Azerbaijan is growing steadily. The minister also noted that special attention is given to social partnership with business structures, cooperation with entrepreneurs based on social dialogue in the work of work and employment is carried out.
Babayev noted that the ministry is of particular importance to the participation of employers, including representatives of the private sector, in the process of preparing proposals for improving labor legislation in accordance with new challenges arising in the labor market, modern requirements.
AMCHAM President Azerbaijan Nuran Kerimov, in turn, noted that the Chamber carefully observes the reforms carried out in the field of labor, employment, social protection and social security in Azerbaijan.
The meeting was brought to the attention of the Chamber’s proposals, including changes to legislation related to the implementation of labor functions at home and remote operation, as well as proposals for legal regulation of labor relations within a similar form of work. In connection with this proposal, it was noted that the new draft law on amending the Labor Code provides for the inclusion of articles on distance work, the possibility of fulfilling its functions by an employee through electronic, software and technical, telecommunications in places located outside the permanent workplace, for example, at home or hotel
The project also includes a proposal for the definition of additional working conditions in the labor contract by mutual agreement of the parties in connection with the implementation of labor functions in the form of remote work. In addition, during the meeting, the parties discussed the Offers of the Chamber for the formation of legal regulation of labor relations related to the remote work, improving the rules for the direction of workers on a business trip and other issues.
