In connection with the attacks on ships sailing in the international waters of the Black Sea, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Ankara Nariman Celal and Charge d’Affaires of Russia in Ankara Alexey Ivanov were summoned to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Anadolu Agency, representatives of the diplomatic missions of Ukraine and Russia, with whom negotiations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were conveyed to Turkey’s concerns about these attacks.
November 29 Foreign Ministry spokesman Öncü Keçeli made a statement on the social network of the American company X regarding the attack on the KAIROS and VIRAT ships in the Black Sea.
“These events that occurred in our exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea have created serious risks for the safety of shipping, lives, property and the environment in the region,” Keçeli said, noting that these attacks are a cause for concern.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that to prevent the spread of war on the Black Sea and its further aggravation, as well as in order to prevent a negative impact on Turkey’s economic interests and activities in the region, Ankara continues to maintain contacts with interested parties.
