Russia and Iran launched survey work on the construction of the RisTar railway line.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the ministers of transport of both countries took part in the video clinic ceremony.
as part of the construction, it is planned to build 162 km of the railway track, 8 new stations, 56 flyover, 73 bridges, 30 overpasses.
“The potential of this route is obvious. The confirmation is the interest shown by foreign states,” said Roman Starovoit, head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.
The site will become part of the North-South International Transport Corridor, the most important transport artery between the countries of the Caspian basin, the Persian Gulf and Asia.
In 2024, the volume of transportation along the corridor amounted to 20 million tons. After the implementation of the project, the capacity of only the Western route will be at least 15 million tons of cargo per year.
