Recently, in social networks and on some sites, information appeared that supposedly road police install hidden radar on the roads, often changes road signs with the maximum permissible movement speed, penalizes drivers, even if they did not violate traffic rules.
In the report of the General Directorate of the State Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, it is said that these approvals are unreasonable, since radars – special equipment with the functions of the photo and video recorder are integrated into the central information system of the main traffic police department. Information on the commission of administrative misconduct in real time is transmitted to this system.
In accordance with the law “On Road Movement”, for the Radar Messages on the roads on the roads, service pointers “Information stand” and additional pointers, or a “restriction of the maximum permissible speed” pointer, should be installed. They are located at a distance of 150-1000 meters from the corresponding radar outside the settlements, and in settlements – 50-200 meters in the settlements, the traffic police says.
Stationary radar or mobile, installed in patrol cars are used in many countries of the world. Drivers, knowing about it, prefer not to disturb traffic rules.
