Chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and Forced Migrants Rzrovan Rzayev met with a visit to Azerbaijan with a British politician and a lawyer, ex-chairman of the Cooperation Committee European Union-Azerbaijan Sadzhad Heydar Kerim.
At the meeting, the guest was informed about the state policy held under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the field of working with refugees and internally displaced persons. It was noted that the solution of the problems of this category of people is one of the priorities of the social policy of the head of state.
In addition, the first vice president of Mehriban Aliyev exhibits great care and attention to the people in exile from the native land. It was noted that the absolute majority of internally displaced persons want to return to the territory liberated from occupation – for permanent residence. The return process that will be carried out on the principle of voluntary will begin after ensuring security and decent living conditions in these areas.

In turn, the British politician thanked for a warm welcome and said that he came to Azerbaijan as part of the project “Safe Return of Forced Migrants” with the intention to discuss discussions for cooperation in ensuring security and stability in the region, the establishment of peace and other priority issues.
Stressing that he will go to the territory liberated from the occupation, Sjad Heydar Karim noted that he wants to get acquainted with the realities of Azerbaijan, to contribute to the development of the region in the conditions of the current realities.
